Your video and your data
Read once, then thrown away.
Grumble is not open yet, so nothing below describes a live service handling anyone's data today. It describes what the thing we're building does, and we'd rather write it down now than after it matters.
What Grumble reads
The cooking video you send it, once, in order to rebuild the recipe. That's the whole purpose of sending it.
What Grumble keeps
- The recipe: ingredients, quantities, method, and which products they matched to.
- The creator credit and a link back to the original reel.
- Corrections. When a match is wrong and gets fixed, Grumble remembers the fix so it stops being wrong. This is the part that makes it better over time.
What Grumble does not keep
- The video. It is read once and discarded. What's kept is the recipe, not the footage.
- An account. There isn't one. There's no sign-up, no password, and no profile to delete.
- Payment details. Grumble never takes a payment. You check out in your supermarket's own app, under whatever terms you already have with them.
What gets measured
Four things, and they're about the basket rather than about you: that a basket was opened, that an item was toggled, that the serves count changed, and that the hand-off was clicked. They exist to answer "is this actually useful to anyone", which is a question we'd rather answer with events than with vibes.
Who else is involved
Instagram, because that's where the DM arrives, on Meta's terms rather than ours. Your supermarket, at the point you hand off to check out. Grumble is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any of them.
If you've sent Grumble something and want it gone, or you're a creator who wants their reels excluded, say so and it's done. The creator page has the details.
When this page changes
When the service opens, this page gets rewritten to describe what it actually does then, rather than what it was designed to do now. It is not a contract and it is not legal advice. It's a plain description, kept honest.
